Holidays... so great yet so boring. Rewatched all the House MD episodes up till the new season ones. Find some of the things mentioned inside interesting though. Still it may have been me being too bored. But what the heck.
This a scene from season 1 episode 9. It's about how Doctor Foreman (working under House) has a ex-schoolmate coming down to the hospital to treat one of his patients. Doctor Hamilton (ex-schoolmate) wants to invite him over to LA (where he works) to take up a partnership with him. Doctor House uses one of his experiences with Hamilton to show Foreman where their difference in styles lie. And teach a lesson.
House: i checked him out... he is a great doctor. You think he is better than I am?
Foreman: its about your ego
House: answer the question... its not gonna change how i think about myself. might affect my opinion of you. but that shouldn't affect the opinion of yourself... i'm getting confused. if you think he is a better doctor than i am then you should take the job. otherwise you should get him to buy you two or three more nostalgic lunches and then politely decline.
Foreman: it's that simple? i should just ignore all the mockery and abuse?
House: oh how do i abuse you..
Foreman: oh how do you not? if i make a mistake-
House: i hold you accountable. so what?
Foreman: doctor hamilton forgives... he is capable of moving on
House: that is not what he does.
Foreman: i screwed up his case, he told me-
House: he never said you were forgiven. i was there. he said it wasn't your fault.
Foreman: so?
House: so it WAS. you took a chance you did something great but you were wrong. but it was still great. you should feel great that it was great. you should feel like crap that it was wrong. that's the difference between him and me. he thinks that you do your job and what will be will be. i think what i do and what you do matters. he sleeps better at night. he shouldn't.
Amazingly how humane his thoughts can be despite his retardedness haha. Great scene. Loved it. Or I was too bored. Anyways everyone should check it out. House MD is a great series lol despite it being a little too technical. Just skip through most of the jargon like I do =p or look it up like I do too... hmm.
